Sleeping Amongst The Planes

We thought we were going to wake up Saturday morning and pack up Happy (the Dolphin) and leave around lunch time.

Yeah right.

Have you ever moved your entire house into a small motor home? Whew! It’s not quite like camping, where you pare down to the bare essentials that will fit in your backpack. Oh no. Since all the luxuries of a home are offered by a motor home, we had to lovingly examine everything we use in our day-to-day life and determine whether or not we really wanted/needed to have it with us for the next few months.

Candles, VitaMix blenders, tea kettles, juicers, coffee grinders, hula hoops, books, etc.

And, it turns out, you can pack A LOT into a 19 foot home on wheels. So…we brought everything but the kitchen sink!

We didn’t actually pull out of town till 11:30 at night, but we didn’t care. We were high on life as we cruised through the gorge. Greg found us a great little spot to camp on Night #1 right next door to where as a kid he spent a lot of time with his cousin in Hood River, OR. Check out the photo to see our bunk mates! Sleeping right next to a runway is quite exciting!
